The avant-Postman: Experiment in Anglophone & Francophone Fiction in the Wake of James Joyce
„The Avant-Postman explores a broad range of innovative postwar writing from France, Britain, and the United States. Taking James Joyce’s Ulysses and Finnegans Wake as a joint starting point, I draw genealogical lines from there through the work of more than 50 writers up to very recent years. Centering the exploration around the five strategies developed in his writing the book reveals the striking continuities and developments from Joyce’s day to our own.“

Presentations can include papers, poster demonstrations, and exhibitions of materials. Selected contributions will be published in the peer-reviewed journal Hradec Králové Journal of Anglophone Studies (included in ERIH PLUS).
